Panama Medical Mission Trip |
| |
Duke and Sanet Jennings joined an eye surgery team out of Denver, Colorado for a medical mission, January 2007, 2008 and 2009 in the Darien region of Panama, near the Colombian border. Each year they take vitamins and medicines and visit a different village to set up clinic and participate in evening worship services. A clinic in the town of Sanson, Panama is being constructed and plans for completion by June. Doctor Jennings will be returning June 5 - 14 to head the basic medical group and for the first time work with local volunteer doctors from Panama City. Larry Brady, an elder with the Childerburg Church of Christ in Alabama is the man credited for his major efforts in this work in Panama over the past 25 years. Donations of antibiotic creams, antifungal cream, anti-itch and hydrocortisone creams in small tubes are always in demand. These items can be laced in a box in room 401. There is a Panama Missions Fund set up at Southwest Church of Christ, used to support purchasing medicines, vitamins, medical emergencies and construction materials for local members of the church in need during our yearly trips.
