More About Southwest |

Southwest is a church of over 1300 Christians from all walks of life. We see ourselves as big enough to offer many opportunities for personal growth and ministry, yet small enough to find a place of belonging and fellowship. Our goal is to be a church for the Jonesboro community. We firmly believe that we are to be God's instrument to make a difference in the community where we live. As a result, we work especially hard to be sensitive to people seeking Christ for the first time--or for the first time in a long time. We want to be a place where people can comfortably come, regardless of their past, and know that they will be loved, accepted, and will find the help they need to make God a priority again.
The Southwest building is conveniently located on a 17 acre tract of property at the corner of West Nettleton and James St. (behind the YMCA). Your first look at our property will be the Optimist Club Park. The land for this park is provided by Southwest and is equipped by the Optimist Club. Behind the park is the Southwest building which contains a 1200 seat auditorium, 35 meeting rooms, offices, a Teen Center, gym, walking track, nurseries, and the Better Life Counseling Center.
Southwest is served by nineteen elders, eight ministers, and forty-eight deacons. The church is involved in over 50 local ministries and supports foreign mission efforts in Kenya, Romania, New Zealand, and Hungary. Southwest also enjoys a strong family life ministry, an active children's and teen ministry, a strong campus ministry at Arkansas State University, and hosts numerous personal and family related community events each year.
