The sun did not shine.
It was too wet to
play.
So we sat in the house
All that cold, cold wet day.
I sat there with Sally
We sat there, we two.
And I said, “How I
Wish we had something to do.

If this
sounds familiar in your house, take a look to the south of the church
building. There are tunnels and swings
and things to climb! Big swings, little
swings and fun things galore. We have a
super fantastic playground, second to none.
My four year old grandson says the swing goes so high that his toe
touched a cloud.
And there
was a lot of work done out there last year.
The area under the playground equipment is virtually mud free even in
this weather. So grab a lunchable and a
box of juicy juice, and let’s put this playground to good use. (Oh, don’t
forget the kids.) The kids ……...they
make up the Children’s Ministry.
I am so
excited about everything that is going on in the Children’s Ministry. We have just completed new units of
curriculum for all the nursery classes.
(A Big Thank You to Georgia Henderson for all her hard work.) We’re planning some new things for Children’s
Worship this summer that the entire congregation is going to love. And we’ll be doing some neat stuff in the
elementary wing that will include small group shepherding. Polly Dehm and Tanya Reddell have been diligently
working to get things organized and off to a running start this summer. What a blessing to be a part of this!
Then there
is Charles Griffin and Tammy Evins (and many others) working with those
Redshirts. Their packing up for a
“journey” to the Passion Play May 3rd and 4th .
Pray for the
work in Children’s Ministry and the life long affect that it will have on our
kids. Ask God to use people at Southwest
to be a light house for our kids on their journey to a better life.
